DID HE KNOW?

As a carpenter's son, Jesus was taught how to cut and shape the wood. How to hold the hammer and the nails. How to come down with the full force of the hammer just right as to force the nails into the wood.

He knew the weight of the hammer in his hand. He knew the feel of the nail piercing into the wood. He knew the sound the hammer made as it made contact with the nail and the nail made contact with the wood.

Did He know then that one day He would not only know the sound and feel of the hammer hitting the nail and piercing the wood, but also how it sounded and felt to have the hammer come down on the nail and have the nail pierce throug
h His hands and feet?

I think He knew. I think He knew as well as He knew as a child to be about His Father's business. (Luke 2:49) His earthly father was teaching Him the business of being a carpenter. His heavenly Father was teaching Him how to be about His heavenly business. How to be obedient to His father unto death.

PHILIPPIANS 2:8
AND BEING FOUND IN FASHION AS A MAN, HE HUMBLED HIMSELF, AND BECAME OBEDIENT UNTO DEATH, EVEN THE DEATH ON THE CROSS.

MATTHEW 20:28

28) EVEN AS THE SON OF MAN CAME NOT TO BE MINISTERED UNTO, BUT TO MINISTER, AND TO GIVE HIS LIFE A RANSOM FOR MANY.

I think He knew that one day another man would come with a hammer and nails. That he would hold the nails against His hands and feet and deliberately strike the blows that would force the nails through His flesh and into the wood.

Yes, I think Jesus knew. Because Jesus went to the cross and submitted to the man with the hammer and the nails so we wouldn’t have to.

HEBREWS 2:9

9) BUT WE SEE JESUS, WHO WAS MADE A LITTLE LOWER THEN THE ANGELS FOR THE SUFFERING OF DEATH, CROWNED WITH GLORY AND HONOR; THAT HE BY THE GRACE OF GOD SHOULD TASTE DEATH FOR EVERY MAN.

We can by pass the cross, going through Jesus’ death for us and go directly to the Father.

We don’t have to wait until we die to do it. We can go now. We can go boldly to the throne of grace to find help in our time of need. (HEBREWS 4:19)

The Father is waiting. He is waiting for you to come to Him. To believe in Him now. That was and still is the Father’s business. To pursue you. To find you. To welcome you and to hold you. To make a way for you to be with Him.

I think He knew

That is the reason He came.
