I AM A CHILD OF GOD
1. ROMANS 8:16-17
16) THE SPIRIT ITSELF BEARETH WITNESS WITH OUR SPIRIT, THAT WE ARE THE CHILDREN OF GOD:
17) AND IF CHILDREN, THEN HEIRS; HEIRS OF GOD, AND JOINT-HEIRS WITH CHRIST; IF SO BE THAT WE SUFFER WITH HIM, THAT WE MAY BE ALSO GLORIFIED TOGETHER.
1.We are the children.
2.God is our Father.
3.Everything the Father has is ours.
4.Having God as our father carries certain privileges as heirs.
5.We are not only heirs but joint-heirs with Jesus.
6.I am a child of God. I am very special to God.J
I AM VALUABLE
2. MATTHEW 10:29-31
29) ARE NOT TWO SPARROWS SOLD FOR A FARTHING? AND ONE OF THEM SHALL NOT FALL ON THE GROUND WITHOUT YOUR FATHER.
30) BUT THE VERY HAIRS ON YOUR HEAD ARE ALL NUMBERED.
31) FEAR YE NOT THEREFORE, YE ARE OF MORE VALUE THAN MANY SPARROWS.
1.A farthing is 1/2 a cent in Matthew and 3 cents in Luke where the difference in price can be explained by variation of market price at the time each book was written. (explanation from Dakes Bible Version.)
2.We can compare that to the price that was paid for us in 1 Peter 1:18-19 - THE BLOOD OF JESUS.J
3.God even takes time to notice every hair on our heads. Every aspect of our lives are important to Him. Nothing is too small or insignificant.
4.I am valuable. I am very special to God.J
I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD
3. MATTHEW 5:14-16
14) YE ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD. A CITY THAT IS SET ON A HILL CANNOT BE HID.
15) NEITHER DO MEN LIGHT A CANDLE, AND PUT IT UNDER A BUSHEL, BUT ON A CANDLESTICK; AND IT GIVETH LIGHT UNTO ALL THAT ARE IN THE HOUSE.
16) LET YOUR LIGHT SO SHINE BEFORE MEN, THAT THEY MAY SEE YOUR GOOD WORKS, AND GLORIFY YOUR FATHER WHICH IS IN HEAVEN.
1.We are the light of the world.
2.God trusts us to be light and to help other people to find Him. It is an awesome and wonderful responsibility.
3.I am the light of the world. I am very special to God.J
GOD IS FOR ME
4. ROMANS 8:31
31) WHAT SHALL WE SAY TO THESE THINGS? IF GOD BE FOR US, WHO CAN BE AGAINST US?
1.If no one can ever be against us then God is for us always and in every situation. He knows and cares about every aspect of our lives.
2.God is for me. I am very special to God.J
I AM THE SALT OF THE EARTH
5. MATTHEW 5:13
13) YE ARE THE SALT OF THE EARTH: BUT IF THE SALT HAVE LOST HIS SAVOUR, WHEREWITH SHALL IT BE SALTED? IT IS THENCE FORTH GOOD FOR NOTHING, BUT TO BE CAST OUT, AND TO BE TRODDEN UNDER FOOT OF MEN.
1.God trusts us to be salt to the earth.
2.I have heard a lot of explanations of what salt is used for. My favorite is from Tom Smith. He says salt makes us thirsty and we are to make people "thirsty for Jesus."
3.I am the salt of the earth. I am very special to God.J
GOD WANTS TO GIVE ME GOOD THINGS
6. MATTHEW 7:11
11) IF YE THEN, BEING EVIL, KNOW HOW TO GIVE GOOD GIFTS UNTO YOUR CHILDREN, HOW MUCH MORE SHALL YOUR FATHER WHICH IS IN HEAVEN GIVE GOOD THINGS TO THEN THAT ASK HIM?
1.We want to give goods things to our kids.
2.God wants to give us things. Not just things, but good things.
3.God wants to give me good things. I am very special to God.J
I AM FAMILY TO GOD
7. HEBREWS 2:11
11) FOR BOTH HE THAT SANCTIFIETH AND THEY WHO ARE SANCTIFIED ARE ALL OF ONE: FOR WHICH CAUSE HE IS NOT ASHAMED TO CALL THEM BRETHREN.
1.God is not ashamed to call us brethren.
2.God is not some way up in the heavens god who is far removed from us. God calls us brethren and is not ashamed to do it.
3.God calls me brethren. I am very special to God.J
NOTHING CAN SEPARATE ME FROM GOD'S LOVE
8. ROMANS 8:38-39
38) FOR I AM PERSUADED, THAT NEITHER DEATH, NOR LIFE, NOR ANGELS, NOR PRINCIPALITIES, NOR POWERS, NOR THINGS PRESENT, NOR THINGS TO COME,
39) NOR HEIGHT, NOR DEPTH, NOR ANY OTHER CREATURE, SHALL BE ABLE TO SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF GOD, WHICH IS IN CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD.
1.Nothing can separate us from the love of God. We may not f e e l loved, but that doesn't change the fact that we are. The Bible says in 11 Corinthians 5:7 That we walk by faith not by sight. We may not feel loved at times but we need to remind ourselves during those times that `nothing can separate us from the love of God.'
2.I am loved by God. I am very special to God.J
I AM ACCEPTED
9. EPHESIANS 1:5-6
5) HAVING PREDESTINATED US UNTO THE ADOPTION OF CHILDREN BY JESUS CHRIST TO HIMSELF, ACCORDING TO THE GOOD PLEASURE OF HIS WILL.
6) TO THE PRAISE OF THE GLORY OF HIS GRACE, WHEREIN HE HATH MADE US ACCEPTED IN THE BELOVED.
1.We are accepted. We don't earn it or work for it.
2.I am accepted. I am very special to God.J
I AM JESUS' FRIEND
10. JOHN 15:13-15
13) GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS, THAT A MAN LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS.
14) YE ARE MY FRIENDS IF YOU DO WHATSOEVER I COMMAND.
15) HENCEFORTH, I CALL YOU NOT SERVANTS; FOR THE SERVANT KNOWETH NOT WHAT HIS LORD DOETH: BUT I HAVE CALLED YOU FRIENDS; FOR ALL
THINGS THAT I HAVE HEARD OF MY FATHER I HAVE MADE KNOWN UNTO YOU.
1.I am Jesus' friend. I am very special to God.J
I WILL DO GREAT WORKS FOR GOD
11. JOHN 14:12
12) VERILY, VERILY, I SAY UNTO YOU, HE THAT BELIEVETH ON ME; THE WORKS THAT I DO SHALL HE DO ALSO; AND GREATER WORKS THAN THESE SHALL HE DO BECAUSE I GO UNTO THE FATHER.
1.God trusts me to do great works for Him. I am very special to God.J
GOD WILL CARE FOR ME
12. MATTHEW 6:30
30) WHEREFORE IF GOD SO CLOTHE THE GRASS OF THE FIELD, WHICH TODAY IS, AND TOMORROW IS CAST INTO THE OVEN, SHALL HE NOT MUCH MORE CLOTHE YOU, O YE OF LITTLE FAITH?
1.God will care for my needs. I am very special to God.J
I AM BOUGHT WITH THE HIGHEST PRICE
13. 1 CORINTHIANS 6:20
20) FOR YE ARE BOUGHT WITH A PRICE: THEREFORE GLORIFY GOD IN YOUR BODY, AND IN YOUR SPIRIT, WHICH ARE GOD'S.
14. 1 PETER 1:18-19
18)FORASMUCH AS YE KNOW THAT YE WERE NOT REDEEMED WITH CORRUPTIBLE THINGS, AS SILVER AND GOLD, FROM YOUR VAIN CONVERSATION RECEIVED BY TRADITION FROM YOUR FATHERS;
19)BUT WITH THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF CHRIST, AS OF A LAMB WITHOUT BLEMISH AND WITHOUT SPOT:
1.I am bought back to God by the precious blood of Jesus. This is beyond anything I can put into words. This kind of love is most awesome.
2.I am bought with the blood of Jesus. I am very very special to my God.J
Lord God, Please help us to realize how very very special we are to you. How much loved we are and cared for. You care about every aspect of our lives. You want to provide for us and to be for us in every situation, every moment of our life. Please help us to get this down into our spirits so when we go through times when we don't feel loved or cared for then we can have the Holy Spirit remind us of these scriptures and we will be encouraged. Help us to remember that we walk by faith and not by sight. Not by our emotions but by what we know is true in your words to us in your Bible. Thank you for your love and for your faithfulness to us.
